PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy is a three-step treatment used in multiple application, in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed through centrifugation and then injected into the desired portions. PRP injections provide nutritional rich environment for natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicles.

PRP preparation and treatment is a three-step process

Step 1:-Your blood is drawn and put into a centrifuge (a machine that spins with certain frequencies that components in the blood separate as fluids of different densities.

Step 2:- After about 10 – 15 minutes, your blood components will have separated into in three layers:

1st layer -platelet-poor plasma

2ndlayer-platelet-rich plasma

3rd layer-red blood cells

Step 3:- 1st and 3rd layers are discarded and the platelet-rich plasma is filled into a syringe and then injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth.

side effects of PRP therapy include:-

  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Altered sensation
